Romance of Being Seen
The Romance of Being Seen is a series of fifteen mixed-media collages meditating on the body as a site of vulnerability, sensuality, and transformation. Each work offers an intimate encounter—where the self is unguarded, layered, and luminous, revealing not what we are told to be, but what we dare to show. This is not the romance of roses or courtship, but of self-recognition, body reverence, and the tender labor of visibility. Through guardian angels, transgender heroines, blind Cupids, and roped mermen, a visual language unfolds—one of longing, poetic defiance, and quiet grace. In a world that so often renders outsiders invisible, this body of work insists, gently and firmly, on being seen.
